I don't live in the United States, can I still order tests?

You can order from virtually anywhere in the world.  Call 954-929-4814 to place your order or email us at
Do I need a prescription from my doctor to order a blood test?

No.  Unless you are filing an insurance claim for reimbursement, you do not need a prescription from your doctor to order our tests.  Our triple Board Certified, licensed pathologist will write the order for your test/s as required by state laws.  However, she cannot underwrite an insurance claim because you are not being seen as her patient.  If you are planning to file an insurance claim, please read the information under insurance, Medicare or Medicaid.
Where do I go to have my blood drawn?

You may go anywhere you choose.  Please verify that the facility will draw the blood for an outside laboratory.  Locate one of the following:

 Hospital Outpatient Laboratory

 Your own doctor’s office

 Phlebotomy service facility

If you can’t find a blood drawing site near you, contact our office, we may be able to help you locate one.

Please note that there is an extra charge for the blood drawing service, which you pay directly to the drawing facility.
What do I need to bring with me to the blood drawing facility on the day of the draw?

Everything that was sent to you with the test kit, except your credit card receipt.  If you are having the HCG urine test (included with the Cancer and Longevity profiles), make sure to collect and transfer your first morning urine to the “urine vial” provided with your kit and bring it with you.

How much blood do you need for the test/s?

How do I ship my blood/urine.  Do I have to pack the sample/s with ice?

Domestic orders: If you received a blood test kit from our laboratory or your doctor's office, the vials (bullet tubes) contain a preservative that will keep the samples integrity stable for up to 7 days.  No ice is required with the specimen.  You may ship these vials 2 to 3 days priority mail.

International orders:  Ship all samples Global Express.  Verify that it will reach us within 7 business days of the date of draw.  Do not ship whole blood.  Serum and urine only please.

If you are not using the vials with preservative and/or you are having a CBC Complete Blood Count test, the samples must be shipped overnight.

When do I get my test results?

We set up for testing every Wednesday.  If we receive your specimen by the end of the day Tuesday, the test/s will be run and the results reported on Friday of that week.  If your specimen arrives after the deadline, it will be frozen and run the following Wednesday.

Result reports are either emailed, mailed, or faxed out on Fridays.

Please note that if the prescription for your test/s was written by your own doctor, results will be sent to your physician.  If our staff doctor ordered the test/s, results will be released to you.

These results will indicate if there are any abnormalities.  In case of abnormal results, you should make sure to show them to your personal physician, who can determine if you have any serious problems and what you can do about them.

My test/s were ordered by my doctor.  Can I get a copy of the results?

Results are sent to the ordering physician, however new guidelines established in 2014 allow us to release a copy to you upon request.  Though, there is a wait period of 7 business days to allow your ordering physician to review your results first.

I have abnormal results, what do they mean?

Interpretation information is included with your test results.  Please consult and discuss with your physician for any recommendations.

If you need additional understanding of your results, feel free to contact our technical staff with your questions.  Our telephone number is 954-929-4814.

How often should I repeat these tests?

Retesting recommendations are based on your individual results and your treatment, please check with your health care professional.  Our general guidelines recommendation is to retest abnormal tests every 3 to 4 months during treatment.

What is the most comprehensive profile you have?
The Longevity Profile®© is our most comprehensive work-up.  What we call, "a biochemical full body scan without the radiation exposure".  Composed of over 60 tests; it includes the full Cancer Profile™©, sex hormones, PTH, organ enzymes, and growth hormone(IGF-1).  In addition, it evaluates adrenal stress with a comparison of the morning and afternoon levels, cardiac and stroke risk markers, lipid profile, sugar, electrolytes, minerals, and it assesses your white cells, red cells, platelets, etc.  It is recommended for the early detection and prevention of diseases like cancer, heart and other vital organs function conditions, hormonal imbalance, adrenal stress, etc., years before a potential disease manifestation.

What is the difference between the Longevity Profile®© and the Cancer or CA Profile™©?

The Longevity Profile®© includes all the tests listed above, the CA Profile™© is part of it.  The Cancer Profile™© is for the early detection, prevention, and therapy monitoring of cancer only, and includes 7 tests: HCG x2 (serum and urine), PHI, CEA, TSH, GGTP and DHEA-S.

What is the difference between the Navarro Test and your HCG Urine test?

Dr. Navarro was the first individual testing for cancer with his HCG Urine test.  We very much appreciate his pioneering work. However, his technology is much outdated and may not distinguish between HCG, TSH, FSH, and LH in the urine sample. Therefore, the results may reflect the sum of all those four hormones in the urine. The Navarro normal results are below 50,000 mIU/mL, i.e. 50 IU/L.  Would you not want to know what is between 0 and 49 negative range?  Most likely the sum of FSH, LH, TSH, and HCG.  The human  pituitary gland secretes large quantities of the messengers FSH, LH in Peri-Post menopausal women and older men.  Hence, it may well be these hormones present in the 0 to 49 zone, and not HCG.

Our HCG Urine Quantitative test is specific for the HCG hormone, no other hormone. This is to say, unlike Navarro's test  and over the counter pregnancy tests, our test has no possible cross reactivity with TSH, FSH, and LH hormones. Furthermore, the analytical sensitivity of our HCG test is 0.4 mIU/mL, not 50,000.  Our normal results are less than 1.0 mIU/mL, i.e., several thousand times lower. Most cancer patients and those who may be in the process of developing cancer will yield less than 5 mIU/mL. Therefore, the Navarro test may miss most early developing or existing cancers.

American Metabolic Laboratories urine HCG (HCG-U) test requires a small sample of the first morning urine. It is paid and shipped to American Metabolic Laboratories, a COLA and CLIA certified, Florida State licensed clinical laboratory in the U.S.A.

*Experts recommend 2 technologically different HCG tests performed to reduce, if not eliminate false positives.  The results of one test generally confirms the validity of the other.  Our laboratory offers two different methodologies: Urine and serum methods.

Do Insurance companies, Medicare or Medicaid pay for these tests?

American Metabolic Laboratories are not in network with any insurance company.  Check with your insurance provider to find out your coverage for an out-of-network testing facility.

You may be able to file an insurance claim for reimbursement.  Or we can file it for you for a nominal fee.

If you’re planning to file a reimbursement claim, ask your insurance company if they require an order from your M.D. or D.O. physician.  In such a case, you will need to request the prescription from your doctor before placing the test order.  A copy may be mailed or faxed to our office at 954-929-4896.

Medicare and Medicaid are not accepted by our laboratories.

Can American Metabolic Laboratories file an insurance reimbursement claim for me?

Yes.  Please enclose a copy of your insurance card (front and back), insured’s D.O.B. and relation to patient (if not the patient), and payment for the filing fee of $25.
